90-min intake assessment sessions: $275
3-hours EMDR processing sessions per day: $600
The short answer is no. History taking and verifying the client's emotional tolerance are important aspects of the EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) process. A 90-minute intake/assessment session allows the client and clinician to ensure readiness for an intensive processing session. During this session, the clinician may inquire about past diagnoses, history of suicidal thoughts, and more details about the incident the client wishes to work through.
Clients who are currently experiencing active suicidal thoughts or engaging in self-injury are not considered suitable candidates for EMDR intensives.
